About the course

Delivered in conjunction with Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, this introductory programme gives you the foundations of understanding what tikanga is, why it exists, and how it manifests itself in practice.

Tikanga is about purpose, practices, and protocols, and you’ll find it in every aspect of te ao Māori (the Māori world view).

Your local class will have a specialised delivery strand that brings foundational tikanga learning to life.

When you pass this programme you will get this qualification:

Entry requirements

Applicants should demonstrate a keen interest in Tikanga Māori.

Applicants must be a minimum of 16 years of age.

*This course is not available to international students.
