About the course
This micro-credential is tailored for individuals seeking advanced practical training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), with a focus on ArcGIS Pro software. The course combines theoretical knowledge to understand GIS concepts, functionality, and real-world applications, along with practical labs to master advanced GIS software functions.
SIT now offers this course in a HyFlex ('Hybrid-Flexible') format, blending face-to-face and online learning.
The aims of the Geographic Information Systems micro-credential are as follows:
- To gain knowledge and skills that are directly relevant to be employed for scientific investigations, resource management, and development planning.
- To provide advanced-level knowledge of Geographic Information Systems software, specifically ArcGIS pro
- To produce professional practitioners who are well-regarded by employers.
Entry requirements
Please note you are required to have successfully completed a NZ Diploma Level 5 or gained equivalent experience to be accepted into this course.
As part of your application, you must provide evidence of either:
Successful completion of any New Zealand Diploma (Level 5) or,
Relevant industry/work experience, demonstrated through an updated CV.
