About the course

If you’re considering a trades career, but not sure which trade to focus on, this free course is a great way to experience a variety of trades so you can make an informed decision about your next step. It covers machining, fabrication, welding, automotive, autobody, carpentry, joinery, painting and decorating, electrical, plumbing, gas fitting and drain laying. You’ll learn about each of these trades and participate in hands-on activities. You'll also gain foundation skills—including literacy, numeracy and communication—that will support you into further study or the workplace. We’ll help you explore study options and assist you with your CV, cover letters and job-hunting skills. By completing this programme you’ll gain Ara credits which you can use towards further tertiary study in New Zealand. Please note: places on this course are limited.
