About the course

The Master of Information Governance responds to an increasing industry demand for graduates equipped to take up specialist roles as privacy professionals (such as privacy officer and information officer). Opportunities also arise in other roles related to Information Governance.

The programme is designed for working professionals and recent graduates who seek to upskill and advance their careers in privacy, information governance or related fields.

You will be equipped with a sound understanding of Information Governance concepts and global citizenship. You will build a strong platform of professional skills for managing privacy and information governance programmes in businesses and other organisations.

The MInfoGov will be offered virtually through University of Auckland Online. You will be immersed in a rich, flexible and interactive learning environment designed to help you develop professional skills in information governance.

A 120-point Postgraduate Diploma in Information Governance and 60-point Postgraduate Certificate in Information Governance are available for students seeking shorter qualifications or exit options.

Entry requirements

You must have completed a relevant bachelors degree with a GPA of 4.0 or higher in at least 60 points above Stage II, or the equivalent. Or, you can have completed the requirements of a relevant Bachelors degree from this University, or equivalent and passed 60 points in the Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma in Information Governance from this University with a GPA of 4.0 or higher, provided the postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma has not been awarded. Note: A relevant bachelors degree may be in business, engineering, health sciences, humanities, law, sciences or technology. IELTS Academic Score required: 6.5 with no bands below 6.0.
