About the course
Biomedical science is dedicated to a better understanding of the human body, its systems and the mechanisms underlying diseases. This fundamental knowledge is essential for developing innovative diagnostic tools, treatments and preventative strategies. This programme is designed to equip high-achieving science graduates with the skills to design and perform biomedical research and/or translational research and effectively communicate their research through a written thesis. Students have the opportunity to undertake research under the supervision of leading scientists in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, in the Faculty of Science and the Liggins Institute. Graduates of this programme are well-positioned to contribute to advancements in key areas like drug discovery, immunology, genomics, microbiology, neuroscience, molecular medicine, and cancer biology and therapeutics. By studying biomedical science, you can play an active role in contributing to improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities.
