About the course

The programmes are of particular relevance to doctors involved in delivering medical undergraduate or specialist training programmes, clinical nurse educators, and other health professionals with a role in education.

Entry requirements

Entry to the Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education is limited to 34 students per year.

You must have completed either:

  • a Bachelors degree or equivalent prior study
  • a health professional qualification, or equivalent, and at least two years' relevant professional experience and be currently engaged in clinical teaching or curriculum development in a health-related discipline.

In exceptional circumstances, these requirements may by the relevant Associate Dean Academic, or nominee, if it is determined that you have at least three years of relevant practical, professional or scholarly experience.

If you have completed the requirements for the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education, or equivalent, you may credit the courses passed to the Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education on the recommendation of the Programme Director, or nominee, with approval of the Associate Dean Academic.

English language requirements

If you are an international applicant whose first language is not English you will need to provide evidence of your English proficiency.

You will require an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 with no bands less than 6.0.
