About the course
Accelerate your career in business management, property management, information governance or business development by upskilling in a specialisation of your choice.
The 120-point Postgraduate Diploma in Business is best suited to early career managers who would like to pathway into a professional masters degree. It is delivered fully online via UoA Online.
For entry into the programme, you will need a bachelors degree plus a minimum of two years' work experience. If you do not have an undergraduate degree you need to have completed five or more years of relevant work experience.
You will be equipped with a sound understanding of business concepts as well as a strong platform of professional skills to enhance your employability and give you an edge in the job market.
Four specialisations are offered in this postgraduate diploma programme:
- Business Management
- Information Governance
- Property Practice
- Māori Development

The PGDipBus programme is currently open to domestic students only.
Students usually complete their programme in either 1 year (30 points per quarter) or 2 years (15 points per quarter).
The PGDipBus provides pathways to further study at the masters level.
The Postgraduate Certificate in Business (60 points) is available as an exit option from the diploma. It also suits students seeking a shorter qualification.
Entry requirements
For entry into the programme, you will need:
- A bachelors degree
- A minimum of two years' work experience.
Or:
- Five or more years of work experience in a relevant field.
Or:
- A relevant professional qualification in Accountancy, Engineering, Medicine or a related healthcare subject, Science or other discipline, or have equivalent prior study
- And a minimum of two years work experience in a relevant field.
*This course is not available to international students.
