If you want to progress your career to become a leader in a team, the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Introduction to Team Leadership) (Level 3) will help you develop the skills needed to step into a team leader role.

This course will help you contribute to effective team performance and become effective in a leadership role within a team.

You will learn:

  • Effective team performance principles and objectives
  • Communication (including giving feedback in the workplace) 
  • Problem solving and decision-making for business purposes.
  • Ethics and behaviour expected within an organisational environment
Those who wish to enrol in this course, must have access to a workplace environment to be able to undertake the various assessments. Therefore, this course is best suited for those currently in employment or those who will have access to a workplace environment that will allow them to complete the assessments.

A person credited with this standard is able to develop objectives for a team, in accordance with the requirements of the entity.

  • US29042 – Develop objectives for a team (Credits: 15)
  • US9681 – Contribute within a team or group which has an objective (Credits: 3)

Second Intake of study (totalling to 21 credits)

  • US11095 – Write business correspondence to convey complex ideas and/or information (Credits: 3)
  • US24874 – Demonstrate Knowledge of Performance Management (Credits: 4)
  • US25424 – Demonstrate Knowledge of factors that impact on business (Credits: 4)
