About the course
Refresh your skills operating Fast Rescue Boats.
This course will provide you with refresher training in fast rescue boats that meet STCW refresher requirements, as detailed in Section A-VI/2-2 of the STCW Code.
On successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate how to handle and take charge of a fast rescue boat, including righting a capsized fast rescue boat.
- Demonstrate recovery of a casualty from the water and transfer to a ship or a place of safety.
- Demonstrate casualty handling techniques.
- Use the emergency equipment carried in a fast rescue boat.

- Provide evidence of an STCW Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (other than Fast Rescue boats) certificate and
- Provide evidence of an STCW Proficiency in Fast Rescue Boats certificate and
- Students must provide evidence of a current certificate of medical fitness issued in accordance with Maritime Rules Part 34 and
- Provide evidence of a record of on-board training, drills and experience, or a company letter, or equivalent documentation demonstrating that the standard of competence required by the STCW code Section A-VI/2-2 has been maintained in the preceding five years.
