A Taste of Thai - The Secrets of Thai Cuisine
NZQF Level 2

About the course

Learn Thai cooking today.

Take this beginners Thai cooking class and be on your way to cooking authentic, traditional Thai dishes.

Learn the characteristics that make Thai food so tasty.

Find out about the techniques to give your Thai dishes that authentic flavour.

Learn to make satay and khao pad (fried rice). Share a dinner together with your fellow classmates at the end of the class.

This one evening course is held in the main kitchen in T block, off Nile Street.

Entry requirements

To be eligible to enrol on this course, you must be:

  • a New Zealand citizen or resident
  • 16 years of age or over
  • not a full-time secondary school student

However, if you are a full-time secondary school student, NMIT is able to enrol you if you meet all of the following:

  • are 16 years of age and over, and
  • attend this course outside of normal school hours, and
  • have obtained approval from the relevant school principal, and
  • have obtained approval from the TEC to enrol in an ACE Course - please allow NMIT at least 14 working days before course start date to obtain approval from TEC. If approval is not gained before the course start date, you will be shifted to the next available intake.
