About the course
If you would like to develop knowledge and skills to hold a Manager's Certificate, then the Bar Manager's course is ideal for you.
When you successfully complete the Bar Manager's course, you will receive the relevant NZQA unit standards to be able to apply for your Bar Manager's Certificate. Please note you must be 20 years of age or over to hold a Bar Manager's Certificate.

- Implications of the new licensing laws
- Host responsibilities - the server and in practice
- Legal requirements
- Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012
Those who successfully complete this course will be awarded:
- NMIT Record and Letter of Achievement
- NZQA Unit Standard 16705 - Demonstrate knowledge of host responsibility requirements as a duty manager of licensed premises
- NZQA Unit Standard 4646 v8 Demonstrate knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 2012 and its implications for licensed premises.

When you are enrolled, and payment has been received, you will receive a bar manager’s course workbook. Please allow a few days to read through the workbook prior to the start of your course.
You must be 18 years of age or over.
