AS-NZS2980 Pre-test Welding Tuition
Domestic tuition $550 per year

About the course

This course is designed for people who wish to gain their NZS2980 welding qualification for the first time (previously known as 4711).  This course is limited to MMAW (Manual Metal Arc Welding) and GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) of carbon steel only.  This course is run with the Beginners/Improvers course and combined they are limited to 11 places.  For those wishing to renew their NZS2980 qualifications there are separate testing days available. 

Entry requirements

For the retesting and sitting of NZS2980 welding certificate.  Students need to state if they are using GMAW or MMAW for NZS2980.  Limited to 6 GMAW spaces per testing day.  Please be aware of your certificate expiry date and enrol onto the appropriate course date.  Students will be invoiced for the costs at the conclusion of the course.  Cost: $50 booking fee and $250 per welding procedure, charged at the end of the day.  Expired welding certificates will need to be sighted on the day of testing. Please bring with you the safety equipment and protective clothing listed above.
