Fundamentals of Marketing
Course details
About the course
The UNI Collective's Fundamentals of Marketing is a stand alone online Marketing short course which also forms part of the wider Business Apprenticeship (BApp) program and Sales and Marketing bundle. All our courses and training are delivered using real life examples and case studies and can be accessed anywhere allowing students to step in and out of their learning to fit in with their work/life schedules.
Each course is delivered over a 2-6 week period depending on your available time. We look at outcomes, and work backwards to figure out the skills that are needed, then engage directly with the industry to guide the content, meaning it is current and realistic to the working environment.
We have then developed those into a question and answer format that keeps learning active and engaging.
Case based and story driven. People remember stories – so we build narratives around the content. These narratives are based on real world current scenarios and case studies, which means people can see the learning in context and know when to apply it.
Each standalone lesson has approximately 5 questions and takes 10 minutes to complete. </p>
This removes the mental load required to start, and gives people quick wins to continue their journey. Lessons on how to build a brand, the marketing mix, creating routes to market, creating customer profiles, B2B marketing and data based decisions are all examples of our content.
Following the course you will have a good introduction and base knowledge of marketing, understand how marketing is used within your business and have a great platform of base skills which will allow you to decide if you would like to invest further in a marketing career or carry on and complete your Business Apprenticeship. Roles you could expect to apply for following our course would be Junior Brand Manager or Marketing Coordinator roles.
All our courses come with complimentary access to our soft skills courses such as personal development which we believe are just as important as the hard skills.
Entry requirements
Ideally you are currently employed and working within a business but its not essential. Other than that you need a kick arse attitude and desire to be great.
*This course is not available to international students.
About the provider
We’re The UNI Collective and we exist to provide a meaningful, hands-on training framework for people no matter what stage of their career, no matter what their learning style.
We created The UNI Collective for School Leavers, Graduates and Medium Sized Businesses wanting to develop staff through their business but don’t have the framework, budget or resource to manage training and development properly.
The UNI Collective is an in-house, turn-key Business Apprenticeship Program (BApp) as well as a suite of online courses, covering a range of soft skills, personal development and business theory at fixed cost.
"We believe, if staff have a base knowledge of business fundamentals they have a better understanding of the business and the part other departments play. This lifts productivity and makes the boat go faster!"
We are passionate about creating a world where employers play a part in actively developing young people through their business no matter what their size through hands-on, industry lead learning and mentoring that suits the many different learners among us.
The UNI Collective was created out of frustration towards the high cost and ad-hoc nature of corporate training and the one size fits all higher education pathways in NZ. The results is that it is potentially excluding great young people from learning and developing meaning a large talent pool is being under-utilised.
