About the scholarship

First established in 2002, this scholarship supports the studies of students with links to Taranaki and/or research relating to Taranaki's natural history. The Scholarships are usually to support studies of students who are studying full-time at post graduate level; i.e. pursuing their PhD, Masters or honours level studies and have attend secondary school in Taranaki, or who have family residing in Taranaki or other connections to the region. The Scholarships are to be awarded to advance the study of the natural environment, archaeology and social history of the Taranaki region; e.g. biological sciences, earth sciences, archaeology or anthropology.
