About the scholarship
The Hugh McDougall Rankin Education Trust provides financial assistance to science students in Christchurch both at the state secondary school and tertiary institution levels.

Entry requirements
(a) Applicants must be full time students undertaking an undergraduate degree in any physical science subjects such as chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, biotechnology, biochemistry, mathematics and applied sciences, having successfully completed at least one year of tertiary study at Lincoln University, University of Canterbury or CPIT.
(b) Applicants must have had not less than four years secondary schooling in one of the following schools: Aranui High School, Avonside Girls High School, Burnside High School, Cashmere High School, Christchurch Boys’ High School, Christchurch Girls’ High School, Hagley Community College, Hillmorton High School, Hornby High School, Linwood College, Mairehau High School, Papanui High School, Riccarton High School, Shirley Boys’ High School or any other State Secondary School in the Christchurch area established after the commencement date of this scholarship.
(c) Applicants must be under the age of 25 years when applying for the scholarship.
(d) Previous recipients, including a recipient of the secondary school Hugh McDougall Rankin Educational Scholarship, are eligible to apply.
