About the scholarship
The Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture (monbukagakusho) of the Government of Japan offers scholarship to foreign students who wish to study at Japanese universities.
Offered to students who wish to study at Japanese universities as undergraduate students.

Each applicant must submit three sets of documents as specified in application procedure. One set is required to be original documents.
Entry requirements
This scholarship is available to applicants who are between 17 and 22 years old at the point of application and have completed 12 years of school education or have completed courses in a school comparable to a high school (includes prospective graduates). Applicants must be New Zealand citizens. A five-year scholarship is offered (first year in Japanese language training) beginning in April. For those majoring in medicine, dentistry or veterinary medicine the term of scholarship is seven years.
