About the scholarship
The PhD scholarship is funded by the National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research (NIWA), and has been established to help assess the ‘Impact and Recovery of Seafloor Communities after the Kaikoura Earthquake’.

Entry requirements
• Bachelor’s degree with Honours or a Master’s degree in biological or ecological subject, ideally with a marine focus • For NZ citizens; GPA of no less than 6 (letter grade B+), or approved evidence of adequate training and ability • For international applicants; Bachelor’s degree graded in a four-point GPA system should have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 • Applicants who have a Bachelor’s degree graded in the British system, including India, must be awarded the degree with first or upper second-class Honour • Applicants whose first language is not English must also meet the English language requirements stipulated on the Victoria University website • Be a NZ citizen or be eligible to study in NZ
