About the scholarship
The New Zealand meat industry needs highly skilled young people who can become the future leaders in one of New Zealand’s largest industries. The MIA Scholarship scheme provides a pathway for undergraduate and graduate students into a career in the New Zealand meat industry.
How To Apply
The Scholarship portal is open annually from October to late November.
When the portal is open, instructions and the online application form can be found on the scholarships page. Applicants should complete the online form before the closing date.
What you receive
• Postgraduate scholarships of $10,000 a year for each year of study for up to two years
• Assistance with obtaining study related projects / vacation work experience
• An introduction to the red meat industry networking opportunities
• Mentoring programme with face-to-face and online sessions which includes the Scholars programme run alongside the Annual MIA Red Meat Sector Conference
Entry requirements
- Must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
- Studying at a New Zealand based tertiary institution
- Must be looking to contribute their skills to the red meat sector in the future, beyond the farm gate
