About the scholarship
Winifred Pharazyn has been a generous supporter of young singers from the New Zealand School of Music —Te Kōkī for many years. Victoria University of Wellington recognised this in a meaningful and impactful way through an annual scholarship for a voice student supported by opera loving friends. The funds from this earlier scholarship are now exhausted. Winifred and Neil will continue to fund this scholarship, awarded annually to support a student of classical voice with their tuition or other expenses.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. Applicants must be a Classical Voice student enrolled at the New Zealand School of Music. A completed online application must be submitted by 4.30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4.30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered. Applicants must submit a plan for progressing their studies in vocal performance, an academic transcript, and an academic reference (to be requested via the online application).
