About the scholarship

The Sir Paul Callaghan Magnetic Resonance Masters Scholarship supports MSc research in the field of Magnetic Resonance Physics or Engineering. Established in honor of Professor Sir Paul Callaghan, this scholarship aims to foster research that has applications in medical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and climate change research. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 towards fees and any remainder paid as a stipend.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in a Master's by thesis at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be undertaking research in Experimental Physics or Engineering, or a closely related field. Applicants' proposed research must relate to magnetic resonance. Applicants should ideally hold a first-class honours degree in Physics or Electronic Engineering to meet entry requirements for the MSc programme at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington.
