About the scholarship

This scholarship is funded by MBIE SSIF funding programme towards designing the Future Architecture of Electricity Network of New Zealand. As part of the programme, the eligible candidate will be developing a unified framework.

Entry requirements

Applicants should:

  • Hold a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Have a minimum VUW-equivalent CGPA of 7.5 or above.
  • Have an interest in DC distribution systems.
  • Possess modelling experience in MATLAB, PSCAD, and hardware-in-the-loop systems.
  • Have some hardware or hands-on industry experience.
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Be enthusiastic, want to make a positive impact in the world and can work in a collaborative environment.
