About the scholarship

The Mona and Rex McClenaghan Veterinary Scholarship was established to support talented veterinarians to pursue postgraduate study primarily into canine health, and welfare, including the societal and personal benefits of pet ownership. This scholarship has been established to remember and honour Mona and Rex's lifelong love for all types of animals.

Entry requirements

You will be:

  • enrolled or intending to enrol in a Master of Veterinary Studies or a Doctor of Philosophy within the School of Veterinary Science, Massey University
  • undertaking research into the health and welfare of dogs, or undertaking research into the impact of pet ownership on owners (with a preference for the impact of dog ownership)
  • New Zealand citizens or permanent residents are preferred, but international student applications will be accepted and considered

Include the following with your application:

  • a research outline for your proposed research and how this research aligns with the scholarship intent
  • a reference from your supervisor supporting your application and demonstrating your suitability for the scholarship
  • a copy of your academic transcripts for your full tertiary level background
  • a statement demonstrating your passion for canine health and animal welfare and how you are suited for this award.
