About the scholarship
For undergraduate agriculture and horticulture students with an interest in the kiwifruit industry. Founded by Rob Craig and his wife Maree in 1983, Punchbowl has grown from its Patumahoe roots into a major player in New Zealand's horticulture sector. The company name reflects the Craig family's 1860s settlement property south of Oamaru. From a small 11-acre orchard, Punchbowl has become a horticultural powerhouse, combining cutting-edge technology with strong family and community values. Based in rural South Auckland, they operate orchards, a high-tech packhouse, and coolstorage facilities across Auckland and Northland. As a family-hybrid business, Punchbowl's mission is to ‘Grow Greatness’, delivering top-quality kiwifruit, investing in community, and fostering career growth. Their innovative fund supports educational opportunities for deserving students, helping grow future community leaders.
