About the scholarship
This scholarship has been established through the generosity of alumni from Malaysia and Singapore to support the next generation of students at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. It aims to assist students who have the ambition and academic talent to thrive but face financial hardship that may hold them back. The scholarship will be paid as a stipend of $8,000, in two instalments of $4,000 each trimester. Recipients must write a letter of thanks to the donors of the scholarship.
Entry requirements
NZ Citizens or Permanent Residents. Applicants must be entering their second year of undergraduate study at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington at the time of application. Demonstrated financial hardship. Satisfactory academic performance. Preference may be given to students who have contributed to their community or have volunteer experience. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
