About the scholarship
The Dr Alena Vanderborght-Elbl Doctorate Scholarship was established to support a PhD candidate at Lincoln University to undertake advanced research in ecology and/or taxonomy. This scholarship reflects Dr Vanderborght-Elbl's commitment to rigorous inquiry and her belief in the power of science to shape communities and advance knowledge. It supports a doctoral student undertaking research at Lincoln University in ecology and/or taxonomy, continuing the traditions of excellence that defined her career.
Entry requirements
Academic Merit. A minimum grade point average equating to an A- (80%) average is required to be eligible to apply for the scholarship. Fit of the proposed PhD within the scope of ecology/taxonomy research, with appropriate supervisory team and operational budget. When there are applicants of similar merit, there will be a preference given to entomological themed projects. Evidence of research experience or other relevant experience. Students with barriers to university study are encouraged to apply; e.g. (but not limited to) financial, first generation at university, minority groups, dependants.
