About the scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2025 by Marion Walton (a graduate of Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington) with both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Psychology degree. The scholarship is intended to support students interested in pursuing a Master's degree in Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Psychology. The scholarship provides a monetary value of $12,000, which is awarded for one year for a Masters by Thesis or two years for a Masters by Coursework and Thesis. Recipients are expected to write a letter of appreciation to the donor and provide an end-of-year progress report.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enrol in a Master's degree programme (either by thesis or coursework and thesis) in Psychological Science at Victoria University of Wellington, with a focus on one of the following areas: Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience, Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
