About the scholarship
This scholarship provides an opportunity for a Māori student to engage in seismic and geological field studies at Ōkataina volcano, focusing on understanding the volcano's past and present behavior. The project includes fieldwork campaigns and report writing, with a strong emphasis on collaboration with local Iwi.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be Māori, or of Māori descent. A good level of physical fitness is required for outdoor work in remote areas. The student will assist with field campaigns and is expected to write a detailed report as a record of their work.
