About the scholarship
This project involves working with the Colin McCahon Legacy Project research team to gather and analyse data for the new Colin McCahon interactive digital archive currently under construction. In particular, the Summer Scholar will focus on updating the Project's records of past exhibitions of Colin McCahon's artwork. They will undertake primary and secondary source research and liaise with arts institutions in New Zealand and overseas to source relevant data, archival materials, publications and photography. They will also plan, research and write an essay on a related topic to be published on the new website. The Summer Scholar can expect to gain skills and experience in archival research, data management, liaising with arts institutions, working as part of a research team and writing for general audiences. The project would be suitable for Art History or Museum and Heritage Studies students looking to apply their research skills and develop their knowledge about one of New Zealand's foremost modern artists.
