About the scholarship
This scholarship helps international students who are intending to study for a Master's degree or Postgraduate Diploma to join Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington's international student community. This is a partial fee-based scholarship that will go towards tuition fees for a Master's degree programme of 120, 180 or 240 points or a Postgraduate Diploma of 120 points. It is designed for new international students who are entering a Master's degree or Postgraduate Diploma and studying full-time on campus. Holders must demonstrate their academic potential, as demonstrated by their admission into a Victoria University of Wellington Master's or Postgraduate Diploma degree programme.
Entry requirements
Students must be:
- International students who are paying full international fees; and
- Intending to attain a Master's degree at Victoria University of Wellington of 120, 180 or 240 points, or a Postgraduate Diploma of 120 points; and
- A holder of an unconditional or conditional Offer of Place for a Master's degree programme or Postgraduate Diploma at Victoria University of Wellington; and
- New students to a Victoria University of Wellington Postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree programme.
For the avoidance of doubt, this scholarship is open to students who are completing or have recently completed:
- Victoria University of Wellington's English for Academic Purposes (EAP) programme; or
- A Victoria University of Wellington Bachelor's degree.
Students are not eligible for this scholarship if they:
- Are (prior to, or at the time of, consideration for the scholarship) already studying at Victoria University of Wellington (returning students) (unless they are undertaking the University's EAP or Bachelor's degree programme); or
- are a Study Abroad or Exchange student or a Twinning student from one of our overseas partner universities; or
- have received credit transfer from a previous qualification, also known as advanced standing or recognition of prior learning; or
- are sponsored by their home Government, or the New Zealand Government; or
- are Australian or New Zealand citizens, permanent residents or resident visa holders, or on a diplomatic visa entitled to domestic status.
