About the scholarship
The University of Waikato Doctoral Scholarship was established to support the aspirations of Māori wanting to study at the doctoral level at University of Waikato. This scholarship provides financial support for Māori students pursuing doctoral studies.
Entry requirements
The scholarship application process will be student-led starting from 1 March 2026. Applicants must provide commentary in support of their application, include academic and professional references, and submit updated materials if they have changed since their application to enrol. Applications will continue to be considered in four rounds each year and will still require an Offer of Place in order to be considered for a scholarship.
