About the scholarship
The ‘Ko Te Tangata’ School Leaver Scholarship, named ‘for the people’, recognises and supports top-achieving students commencing an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato. Priority will be given to those who achieve Excellence or Merit endorsements at NCEA level 2 (or equivalent) at a New Zealand secondary school and/or students with demonstrated financial hardship or extraordinary personal circumstances. This Scholarship is available for all subject areas.
Entry requirements
For school leavers who are intending to enrol full-time (120 points) in an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato for the first time in 2027. Applicants may be taking a gap year in 2026.
