About the scholarship

This scholarship was established through a bequest from Bruce Lauder of Timaru, in memory of his sister, Janet Lauder, who had a long career as a nurse. It supports postgraduate nursing students at Victoria University of Wellington undertaking research in public or community health. The funds are to be used to support research-related expenses or fees.

Entry requirements

Applications will be considered from students in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Practice, who are writing a Master's or PhD research thesis in public or community health. Preference will be given to full-time students but part-time students are also eligible. Applicants must be enrolled in a Master's by thesis or PhD in the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Practice at Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be a registered nurse. Applicants' research thesis must be in public or community health. Selection will be made on academic merit and financial need. Preference may be given to applicants of Māori or Polynesian descent.
