About the scholarship
The Quentin-Baxter Memorial Scholarship fund is managed by the University and provides monetary assistance to students undertaking or proposing to undertake study or research in the Faculty of Law at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The purpose is to recognize and encourage academic merit by the award of scholarships and prizes, and it also has discretionary monies for the relief of financial hardship.
Entry requirements
Applicant must be enrolled in one or more second year law courses at VUW and intend to complete their LLB at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident. In even number years (e.g. 2026), the scholarship will be awarded to all full-time students of Māori descent. In odd years (e.g. 2027), the scholarship will be awarded to all full-time Pasifika students. The selection committee will consider financial need, personal qualities, and academic ability as well as the applicant's links with and likely contribution to their Māori and/or Pasifika community.
