About the scholarship
The Quentin-Baxter Memorial Scholarship fund is managed by the University and provides monetary assistance to students undertaking or proposing to undertake study or research in the Faculty of Law at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship recognizes and encourages academic merit and has discretionary funds for financial hardship. Recipients will be awarded $1,500 in their first year, and $1,000 in their second and third years respectively, provided they achieve satisfactory academic progress.
Entry requirements
Applicant must be enrolled in one or more second year law courses at VUW and intend to complete their LLB at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or Permanent Resident. In even number years, the scholarship will be awarded to full-time students of Māori descent; in odd years, it will be awarded to full-time Pasifika students. The selection committee will consider financial need, personal qualities, academic ability, and the applicant's links with and likely contribution to their Māori and/or Pasifika community.
