About the scholarship
Full fees scholarships are available for excellent students studying for a one-year Master of Engineering by thesis (ME) degree at the Robinson Research Institute at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The purpose of this scholarship is to enable recent science and engineering graduates to develop a range of key industry-ready engineering skills, whilst pursuing their own individually tailored research project. Paihau—Robinson Research Institute is the premier education & research institute for high-temperature superconducting (HTS) technology in Aotearoa. Our multidisciplinary team are leading world class research programs developing new technologies, focussed on creating a sustainable future. Students undertaking their Master of Engineering by thesis at Paihau—Robinson will work closely alongside professional research engineers and scientists, who provide one-on-one supervision. Each project is set within one of our core research areas, including: Electrifying large-scale transport with superconducting machines, Superconducting magnets for space applications, High-temperature materials processing, Magnetic materials for sensors.
Entry requirements
Honours degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, or a related subject area are encouraged to apply. Applicants must satisfy requirements for admission as a Master's of Engineering by Thesis candidate at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be eligible to enrol as a domestic student.
