About the scholarship
This scholarship is funded by the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER) and has been established to support students studying economics who have an interest in the Māori economy or issues affecting Māori. The scholarship is valued at $7,500 and is available for up to 2 years of undergraduate study, depending on the year of study in which the scholarship commences.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be fully enrolled in a full-time programme with courses in Finance, Economics, Business or Commerce at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be in their second, third or fourth year of study. Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents. The highest performing students in their year for economics and finance courses will have preference. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an interest in the Māori economy, issues affecting Māori and an interest in working in Māori economics in the future.
