About the scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2008 through the Victoria University of Wellington Foundation from a bequest from the estate of Mrs Claire Palmer-Jones. During her lifetime, Mrs Palmer-Jones expressed her desire to assist women who were experiencing difficulty in continuing their study at the University as a result of financial hardship. The scholarship is designed to support a second or third-year female student who is experiencing financial hardship, specifically targeted to students studying literature and/or modern languages.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be female. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in their second or third year at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be enrolled in English literature or modern languages. Applicants must be experiencing financial hardship. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
