About the scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2014 by the Anstiss-Garland Charitable Trust to support postgraduate students studying social justice in areas relating to rehabilitation and restorative justice. The Trust was established following the death of Diana Anstiss in 2012. Diana and her companion Lilian Garland had a long-standing interest in helping those in need and those who could be considered disadvantaged in society.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be full-time postgraduate students studying at Te Herenga Waka–Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or Permanent Residents. Students from any course of study which focuses on social justice are encouraged to apply, particularly those studying Criminology, Psychology, Sociology, Law, and Restorative Justice. Students holding a full three-year PhD scholarship are not eligible to apply.
