About the scholarship
The Clare Galambos-Winter Scholarships were established to support students in the New Zealand School of Music who demonstrate exceptional talent in violin performance. The purpose of these scholarships is to foster the performance careers of exceptionally talented musicians who have demonstrated a strong and clear commitment to a career in violin (or cello) performance. They are available at Honours or undergraduate level. There are two scholarships offered in perpetuity, one for Honours students and one for undergraduate students.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be intending to enrol in violin performance (second choice, cello performance). Applicants must be intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree in Music at the New Zealand School of Music —Te Kōkī, Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. Applicants may be up to 25 years of age at the time of their application. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
