About the scholarship
This scholarship was established through a bequest from the late George Trachy Pirouet to support students undertaking postgraduate study in Latin American studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship is valued at $10,000 and can be used towards tuition fees or as a monthly stipend. The successful recipient is expected to write a letter of thanks to the executors for the estate of the donor within one month of receiving the scholarship and to provide a copy of their thesis at the end of their study.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be enrolled, or be intending to enrol full-time, in a Master's by thesis or PhD in a topic in Latin American studies at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Selection will be based on academic merit. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
