About the scholarship
The scholarship is in memory of Emeritus Professor Frank Evison, who was a pioneer in geophysics and earthquake forecasting. It supports students at the Masters by Thesis or PhD level, focusing on long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting. Established in 2006 through a generous endowment by Professor Evison's family, it aims to continue the research legacy of Professor Evison.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be enrolled or intending to enrol in a Masters by Thesis or PhD at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Their research must focus on long-term seismogenesis and long-range earthquake forecasting. A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
