About the scholarship
The Deane Orchestral Studies Scholarship builds on the legacy of the Deane Endowment Trust, which has a long-standing commitment to music and education in Aotearoa New Zealand. This scholarship aims to foster the careers of exceptionally talented musicians who have demonstrated outstanding performance ability and a strong commitment to a professional career in orchestral performance. The scholarship is valued at $15,000 and is awarded for one year to a domestic student pursuing a Master's by coursework in Music.
Entry requirements
Applicants must: have completed an undergraduate degree in performance with a GPA of at least 7.0 at Te Kōkī—New Zealand School of Music or another New Zealand university on an orchestral instrument, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience; have applied for the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Practice (MFA (CP)) at NZSM by the closing date of the scholarship; be residing in Wellington for the duration of their studies; be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
