About the scholarship
The Deane Orchestral Studies Scholarship promotes links between the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) and Te Kōkī—New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) through a specific Masters programme. It aims to foster the performance careers of exceptionally talented musicians committed to a career in orchestral performance. The scholarship is funded by the Deane Endowment Trust, which supports music and education.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have completed an undergraduate degree (with a GPA of 7) in performance at NZSM or any New Zealand university on any orchestral instrument or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. Applicants must have applied for the Master of Fine Arts in Creative Practice (MFA (CP)) at Te Tōkī—New Zealand School of Music and will reside in Wellington for the duration of their degree studies. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
