About the scholarship
Opera lovers David and Winifred Bull have been generous supporters of young singers from the New Zealand School of Music—Te Kōkī (NZSM) over many years. Annual concerts at their splendid home in Martinborough were much anticipated events on the Wairarapa community calendar. Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington is very grateful for David and Winifred's nurturing of talented young singers and following David's untimely death in 2017 wanted to recognise them in a meaningful and impactful way through an annual scholarship for a voice student. This scholarship is generously supported by their friends in Martinborough.
