About the scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage Māori postgraduate study in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington offers Māori Graduate Awards to those Māori students about to begin their postgraduate (by coursework) studies. These scholarships are awarded on academic merit and are open to New Zealand Māori students.
Entry requirements
Applicants must be studying full time in one of BSc (Hons) in AIML or DATA; Master of Artificial Intelligence (MAI), Master of Data Science (MDataSc); Part 1 for MSc in AIML or DATA at Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be of Māori descent. Applicants are expected to have achieved a minimum B+ grade average (GPA 6.0) at 300-level. Awards will be based on academic merit and personal statements. All offers of the scholarship will be conditional upon the recipient completing all prerequisite course requirements and being fully enrolled at Victoria University of Wellington in a full-year programme by the start of Trimester 1 in the following year in at least 90 points of coursework in either BSc (Hons) in AIML or DATA; Master of Artificial Intelligence (MAI), Master of Data Science (MDataSc); Part 1 for MSc in AIML or DATA.
