About the scholarship

The Sir Paul Callaghan Magnetic Resonance PhD Scholarship supports research in Magnetic Resonance Physics or Engineering at Victoria University of Wellington. Established in honor of Professor Sir Paul Callaghan, this scholarship aims to advance the development of Magnetic Resonance methods and technologies, with applications in medical imaging, climate change research, agriculture, and industry. The scholarship is fully funded for three years, providing a total of $105,000.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a first class honours or Masters degree in Physics or Electronic Engineering to be accepted into the PhD programme at Victoria University of Wellington.
