About the scholarship
The scholarship is to assist in the education and training of undergraduate classical piano students at the New Zealand School of Music at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. This scholarship was established in 2023 through a bequest from David Philps Eade to assist classical pianists studying at the New Zealand School of Music. Recipients will be expected to perform in a concert honouring the memory of David P Eade and demonstrate engagement within the New Zealand School of Music community through participation in ensembles and masterclasses.
Entry requirements
This scholarship will be open to classical piano students intending to enrol in undergraduate study at Te Kōkī New Zealand School of Music. Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents. Selection will be based on current NCEA progress and the applicants will be assessed on their performance they submit as part of the scholarship specific documentation outlined below. Required documentation includes: Two references (to be requested via the online application) – can be one character and one academic; Provide a web link to a recent performance (less than 6 months old) including four pieces of contrasting mood, tempo & style; A personal statement outlining future plans and how this scholarship can assist their future studies.
