About the scholarship
These Scholarships are intended to encourage and support Māori students to undertake doctoral study at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. The scholarship comprises a $32,000 tax-free stipend per year for three years (36 months), plus tuition fees and student levies. For students studying part-time, the scholarship is pro-rated. The stipend will be paid in monthly instalments, and fees will be paid directly to the University.
Entry requirements
Applicants must apply for admission to any doctoral programme at Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants would normally be expected to have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree with academic distinction equivalent to a First Class Honours degree at a New Zealand University.
