About the scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and enable more deaf students to achieve a tertiary qualification by studying at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. The Scholarship was gifted by Sir Roy McKenzie to commemorate the centennial of Victoria University of Wellington in 1999.
Entry requirements
Applicants must:
- be enrolled, or intending to enrol, in an undergraduate programme at second year or above, or in a postgraduate programme at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington
- have a hearing loss of 70 DB or greater in the better ear (i.e. severely deaf).
A completed online application must be submitted by 4:30 pm on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Any required supporting documentation (including references) must also be received by 4:30 pm on the closing date in order for the application to be considered.
