About the scholarship
The New Zealand Schools Scholarship (NZSS) is for middle and high school students from Viet Nam to study at a selected New Zealand school.

How To Apply
Students need to apply online via the application URL and provide:
- Proof the student is a Vietnamese national, e.g. screenshot of passport,
- A notarized copy of the student's school report for the 2023 – 2024 school year,
- A notarized copy of the student's school report for first semester of the 2024 – 2025 school year,
- English certificates (IELTS, or PTE Academic, TOEFL iBT, or any relevant certificate showing students English capability) or equivalent English capability evidence,
- Provide the name and contact details of the student's parent(s), guardian(s) or caregiver(s). If successful, they will be advised on the outcome of your application to the NZSS.
Students must also submit a short video, which will be judged based on:
- Why is the student applying for the New Zealand School Scholarship?
- What are the benefits of a New Zealand education and how will it benefit the student?
- How would the student adapt to the New Zealand school system?
- The creativity of the video
Entry requirements
The New Zealand Schools Scholarship (NZSS) is for middle and high school students from Viet Nam to study at a selected New Zealand school.
In order to be eligible to enter the initiative, students must:
- Currently be in grade 8, 9, 10 in a Vietnamese middle or high school,
- Be a legal citizen of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam,
- Not hold New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency,
- Be aged between 13 and 16 years at the time of application,
- Not have received the New Zealand School Scholarship previously,
- Meet the minimum entry requirements for admission into the participating school(s),
- Meet the requirements for GPA (from 8.0) and English (equivalent to IELTS 5.0 or above)
- Be able to take up the New Zealand Schools Scholarship for a minimum of one school year (4 terms), commencing in July 2025/ January 2026.
