About the scholarship
For New Zealand Master's or Doctoral research students studying at any tertiary institution in New Zealand. The scholarship aims to support research in Japanese studies, preferably a topic related to Japanese language or its teaching. The Sasakawa Fellowship Fund for Japanese Language Education was established in March 1995 by an endowment from the Nippon Foundation to Massey University. It fosters Japanese language in New Zealand through the training of Japanese language teachers and the provision of fellowships to students pursuing Japanese related studies. The fund is supported by the NF-JLEP Association, which encourages fellows to participate in various support programs.
Entry requirements
You must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, enrolled in or eligible to enrol in a master's research degree in Japanese studies.
