About the scholarship
For domestic physics and chemistry doctoral students undertaking PhD studies within the School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences, College of Sciences at Massey University. The scholarship was established from the proceeds of the sale of Magritek business, founded by Professor Sir Paul Callaghan.
Entry requirements
You should be enrolled, or intending to enrol, full time at the Manawatu campus under the School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences. Include the following with your application:
- a copy of your transcripts for any tertiary level study completed outside of Massey University
- a reference letter from your primary supervisor. This should speak to their familiarity with your previous research as well as other factors which may influence your success in the doctoral programme (e.g. consistency of past record, personal attributes, research preparedness)
- your PhD proposal, including a statement demonstrating how your proposal has the potential to contribute to New Zealand's economy
